Tips on Online Betting

You may be a newbie at betting online, or a rookie bettor, or even an old hand at betting and internet savvy as well. But if you're really interested in online betting you would do well to understand that like most everything on the net, it's a thrill, it's very enjoyable and it comes with it's own list of warnings.

For one, it's the internet. One of the early opinion comics about the internet stated it succinctly, “on the internet, no one knows you're a dog.” Put it in another way, you have to take internet content with a grain of salt. Most of it anyway. Specially if it deals with money, in any way or in any form. Watch out, because an even older saw, “a fool and his money are soon parted” is even more true on the internet than it ever was in real life.

When it comes to money, you have to make sure that your account is secure. You also have to make sure that the website you visit have the necessary protocols for keeping your account information safe. Additionally, you should make sure that the website does not put you up for every betting promo that they have. You have to give express permission before you get signed up for anything.

In most instances, the only way your money is secure is if you have a third-party money payment facility on the internet. In this way, you do not need to be giving your credit information to the betting website. The website itself should be sending you an email, for every transaction. This serves as your record and a reminder.

On the betting side, make sure that you have adequate information about what you are betting on.

Whether it is a casino game, or horse racing, the more information you have, the better understanding of the game, which results in a more enjoyable experience. Besides, if you have more information about the game, you would have better chances of winning your bet.

What is so Lucky About Numbers?

A lot of people do not believe in Numerology and the strength of numbers. For most of us, numbers are just mathematical symbols to quantify things.

But if we say we don't believe in the power of numbers, why then is it that if we are asked if we have a lucky number, our ready answer is “yes”? What could this mean?

Aside from adding up two numbers together, we also use numbers in deriving the complex relationships found in nature and in defining the patterns within a space, structure and others. This will require a higher level of mathematical skill. You have to posses an  Master's degree in Abstract algebra to understand all these things. For most of us, these numbers are just way over our head.

Math is used in many scientific fields in the creation of formulas and in providing solutions to a variety of problems. You will soon discover that a lot of people put their faith in numbers and believe in the power that it possess. The kind of power you never expected.

THE DOCTRINE OF NUMBERS

In school, we were taught that math is a science. But in fact, Math is abstract and is a self-evident axiom that is used to explain some realities. According to some definitions, math is eliminated as the non-empirically proven discipline. In conclusion, it should not be considered as a field of science.

There are some different theories that contradict this belief. One of them fully acknowledges math as the confirmation of truth in nature.

The argument of this approach is that all things on this earth and beyond it, could be explained through math. The right methods have not yet been discovered. Several mathematicians may be using this standpoint as of today. Yet there is a more unconventional way of understanding math and numbers.

WHERE NUMEROLOGY CAME FROM

Numerology came from the belief that math and numbers is a universal language which can be used in revealing the divine grace of nature. This was based on the thoughts and works of the early philosophers and mathematicians  such as Pythagoras and Hippo.

A lot of people may argue that the birth of numerology is way older than the theories of Pythgoras. The numerological divination traditions of both the Arabs and Chinese validate this argument. Pythagoras's theories date back to 500 BC while the origins of the Chinese and Arabic theories are so old that its impossible to date.

BASICS OF NUMEROLOGY

Most of these theories are rejected by us. But this overwhelming power of numbers do have a lot of followers. While some people would lean to numbers in the astrological field, others approach numbers in a spiritual way and still others use numbers in the alchemic arts. The one thing that connects all these various schools of numerology is that numbers represent a special meaning that affects all the physical and abstract objects surrounding us including living things.

These theories and philosophies may be too much for our comprehension that we tend to look somewhere else for an explanation.

Going back to lucky numbers, personally I find number 7 specifically lucky. This same number should not be shouted out loud in tables of craps in Las Vegas. 7 is believed to be the cause of serious bad luck to players in the whole table.

During the 2008 Summer Olympics in China, the officials chose to open the ceremonies on August 8, 2008 at exactly 8:00 pm. The number 8 signifies riches for the Chinese that is why the 2008 Olympics began at 8 pm on the 8th day in the 8th month of the 8th year of the millenium. It is evident that numerology is being followed in today's modern world even if most of us would call it as nonsense.

THE DEFINITION OF NUMBERS

Numerology has several approaches. There is no general definition of the specific numbers.  There are some well known examples available and it is left up to you to interpret every specific number.

0              Everthing, All

1              Provoking, Individual

2              Unification, Balance

3              Neutrality, Interaction

4              Creation, Foundation

5              Battle, Action

6              Reaction, Fluctuation

7              Awareness, Conscious

8              Control, Sacrifice

9              Change, Turmoil

10           Increase, Rebirth

GAMBLING AND NUMEROLOGY

Previously it was mentioned how number 7 can bring bad luck in a game of craps. There are many other areas in which numerology affects gambling. Most players use the birthdates and ages of friends and family in deciding on the numbers to bet on buying a lottery ticket.

GENERATORS OF LUCKY NUMBERS

Online you can find many lucky number generators that will help you in deciding which numbers to play. Using your birthdate and name, these number generators will give you personal numbers that are supposed to bring you luck.

The generators use an astrological standpoint in calculating for your lucky number by basing it on the position of the stars during your time of birth and the time of gambling.

THE LUCKY NUMBER OF SLOTO'CASH

Casino players at Sloto'Cash tend to rely on superstition and astrology when gambling. Recently, the casino launched their new game called “Lucky Numbers”. Together with the launching of the new game, the Casino presented a professional numerology columnist who addressed the gamblers numerology related concerns right on the site.

SUPERSTITIONS OF THE CHINESE

You can probably write a book about Chinese gambling superstitions because there are just too many of them. As mentioned earlier, number 8 is a powerful number in Chinese tradition because it brings in lots of luck. Others say that 8 sounds like “faat” which in Mandarin and Cantonese means prosperity. Chinese gamblers avoid numbers 4 and 5 because the pronounciation of these words are similar to “won't” and “die”.

For this reason, several Hong Kong based hotels and casinos omit the 4th and 5th floors. Several Chinese high rollers who fly to Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Casino urging the casino officials to delete number 40 to 59 completely.

A GAMBLER'S SUPERSTITIOUS MIND

Gamblers as a whole are branded as a superstitious breed by the general public. There is a story of a gambler who professed he no longer believed in superstition because it brought him bad luck. Although we find the story funny, deep inside us gamblers, we will be willing to try anything that could change our luck and decrease the house advantage.

Honestly, no rhyme or reason is relevant when it concerns finding our fortune. Whether you decide to play the lucky numbers game at the casino or not, numerology has a big impact on gambling that it just cannot be ignored.

Play your lucky numbers, or use all the constellations in the sky to guide you in placing your bets. Stick to these ways and you will realize that you have been using numerology or the power of numbers in making your decisions.

Cerebral Facts about Gambling

For some chronic gamblers, just the thought of gambling is enough to make them salivate. Fantasies of winning a mountain of chips or credits flowing into their online accounts shoots their adrenaline to the highest levels.

Where is all this coming from? What is the rationale behind the gambler and the game?

THE MENTAL NEED FOR GAMBLING

The gambling process could be sophisticated but the inner need to gamble is a primitive one. That's because everything we learned in life were taught through gambling.

When we were little children, we took the risk in touching a hot oven. Once you get burned, you learn not to touch it again. It's just like losing a gamble.

During our teen age years, we gamble on a lot of things like dating someone, taking the lead in a school play or trying out for the sports team.  If we suceed in any of these activities, we keep doing them over and over again.

MENTAL CONDITIONING

When a certain behavior is rewarded, this encourages the repeat of that behavior. This process is called conditioning and it is widely practiced even in animals.

You can recall Pavlov's experiment where he rang a bell and provided food for his dogs. The dogs were conditioned that everytime they hear a bell, they receive food until they continued to drool at the sound of the bell even if there was no food provided.

Learning how to gamble pretty much works in the same way.

When you get lucky during gambling, you get financially rewarded. So you continue to gamble, returning to the same tables until you are drained of your money.

THE INTELLECTUAL BEHAVIOR OF CHRONIC GAMBLERS

The logical explanation to chronic gambling, even after several failed attempts in winning, stems from intermittent conditioning. Normally, when a player is continuously rewarded then experiences a losing streak, the urge to gamble is extinguished because the person learns that the rewards are no longer given.

On the other hand, if rewards were given intermittently, like when the players receives it then he doesn't, the urge to gamble will be prolonged long after rewards are no longer given. The thought of the possibility that he  can get a reward at an undetermined time fuels his hopes and that makes him gamble more.

This explains why gamblers get hooked to the game. Whenever they play online casino games, they never know  when they will hit the jackpot so it becomes difficult for them to stop gambling.

Avoiding Online Scams

Be mindful of the million and one scams that you can encounter online. These scammers are everywhere and they will take every opportunity to fool you into a scam. Lotto playing is not an exception and scammers have created devious ways into fooling you that you have won the lottery.

You may have unwittingly fallen victim to one of these scams. You may have received a letter in your email stating that you have won millions in the lottery. You have to be wary about receiving this kind of correspondence. First, you cannot possibly win millions in a lottery that you have not joined in. Second, any legitimate online lottery system does not send you a check over the mail and ask you to pay for something before you can even claim your winnings.

The Lottery Scam of EuroMillions

A perfect example of the lottery scam could be based on the EuroMillions lottery.

Most of the online lottery scams focus on the EuroMillions because this lottery is notorious for giving out huge jackpot prizes. The scam comes in the form of a letter stating that you have won the EuroMillions lottery prize. It may even come with a cheque with a specific amount like £250,000. The cheque might even look authentic that you may think you can encash this with the bank.

But be careful because no lottery organization ever sends a winning cheque in the mail if you haven't even joined the lottery yourself! No legitimate lottery company ever demands you to pay for something before you can even claim your winnings. The winnings from a legitimate EuroMillions Syndicate is totally tax free and they deliver their services as they promise.

What to do In Case of A Lottery Scam

The best thing to do whenever you receive a letter like this that appears to be a scam is NOT to respond to the organization that sent you these. You can make a copy of the cheque and the letter sent to you and bring it as evidence of the scam when you report it to the right authorities.

This will trigger an investigation with the postal authorities and the police. They will do what is necessary to catch these criminals with fraudulent activities.

When the letter sounds doubtful then don't! Don't pay any fees or correspond with those that sent you the letter. Trust your instincts when you feel that there is something not right with these letters. Most of the time your instincts are correct!

If you really want to win the lottery then just join legitimate lotteries online like Overseas Subscribers Agents. It is the trusted websites that have the legal systems enabling you to join prestigious lotteries such as Euro Millions.OSA  is a secure site that guarantees you access to the famous European lottery that normally only Europeans can get to join. By joining this website you are entitled to participate their multi-lottery system and get the opportunity to win legitimate games and prizes.

Compare Online Casino vs Online Lotteries

There are several forms of entertainment online and these can be in the form of online gaming. You can choose between playing online casinos or online lotteries, both will bring you the amount of gaming satisfaction that you are looking for.

It really depends on your gaming preference when choosing which kind of online games that you should bet on. However, it cannot be helped when these two forms of games are put against each other for comparison. Knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each does help you make that decision which games you should put your precious wagers on.

Advantages

Although it may seem that casinos and lotteries share a lot of things in common, by giving both modes of gaming a deeper inspection you can clearly see the advantages of each.

Both forms of gaming involve a lot of numbers and risk taking. Both games of course will require you to invest a certain amount of money for wagering in order to receive cash awards. The differences lie in the method and rules of the games.

In playing online casino games, you can have more options to play because of the variety of games available. The online casino websites can be designed to simulate a real life slot machine or enable you to play with other people in a game of poker even if all the players are from different parts of the world. Online casino sites promise their players a “visual treat” every time they play because of the animated graphics and its capability to connect players on a virtual level. You will find these online casinos highly interactive and a lot more exciting than online lotto websites.

Online lotto websites, although they can be designed to be equally eye-catching, lacks the interactive feature that online casinos offer. You just simply view, enter your bets, watch out for results and play on your own.

Disadvantages

Because of too much versatility, online casino websites tend to be too complex and complicated for the first time or average player. Once the player learns the rules of the game, the risk of being addicted to them is higher. That's because there is not much control with how much you will wager every time you win. Most online websites are designed to make the games very enticing for the players to keep playing and eventually they spend more than what they can afford just to win back whatever money they have lost. Online casinos give their players credit options which make it more tempting for them to wager more than their wagering limits.

With online lotto websites, you have more control in your expenditures. These websites are very straightforward whenever you place in a bet for your winning combinations. The rates or prices of each ticket are pegged at a fixed amount and they give you options if you want to bet on more complex tickets. You don't overspend because you know exactly what you will be paying for.

It all really depends on your preferences in choosing the games that will satisfy you most. The only limitation would be your spending capacity and which games you'll like.

Responsible Betting

Regardless of where you choose to place your bets you have to practice responsible betting. Whether you are playing in a real life lottery or in an online gaming website, it pays to use your head when playing one of the most famous betting games on earth.

Though lottery games were really designed to be a form of low-cost gaming entertainment that brings in a lot of fun and excitement, playing and gambling responsibly has become a major problem with some players. National research shows that a small percentage of the population that are called problem gamblers do not follow the “Play Responsibly” expression.

There are several Lottery Reviews created to encourage and promote responsible online gaming  programs and practices to reduce the potential adverse effects of playing the lottery systems in society. By reading these reviews players will be able to  enjoy playing online or offline lotteries in a responsible and sensible manner.

Several people take their chances in gambling and even go to the extent of studying lottery statistics whenever they place their bets on the games. Some people set aside a reasonable amount of money for gaming entertainment in the form of horse racing, bingo, casino, cards and usually, lottery tickets.

However, a small group of adults have developed gaming related problems. These are people who cannot safely manage their gaming habits and it is usually related to their spending attitudes. These are people who are chronic gamblers and suffer from a disease called “problem gambling”.

The Rules of Playing Responsibly

Lottery should be fun and played with utmost responsibility. To be able to play within the boundaries of safe gaming, here are a few simple rules that you can follow:

  • Do not borrow money just to gamble. Use your own money.

  • Play within your financial capacity. Create a budget for gaming and don't overspend.

  • Play with money that you can afford to lose.

  • Do not rely on the winnings of the lottery to solve your money problems. Lottery like all other games, is a game of chance. So just sit back and enjoy it.

  • Play the games socially – with friends, workmates and family. Do not make gambling important to have a good time and never play alone.

  • Monitor time spent on gambling and playing the lottery. By reducing the amount of time you spend gaming, you reduce your risk of becoming a chronic gambler and eventually learn to play responsibly.

  • Don't allow yourself to be pressured into making wagers. That decision to gamble should be yours alone. If you are the type to get addicted to gambling, then it is best to avoid it totally.

  • Do not use any recreational drugs or alcohol whenever you are about to place a wager or when playing the lottery. These things affect your sense of judgment and may even cause you to make the wrong decisions when it comes to your spending limits.

 When You Shouldn't Gamble

Do not even attempt to place any kind of wager if you are under any of these conditions:

  • When you are depressed, lonely, angry or under any kind of stress

  • When you are grieving for the loss of a departed loved one

  • When you are coping or trying to solve some family or financial issues

  • When you are just trying to impress other people
